1. USA (91.3 billion kilograms) :

The United States is number two in all types of milk production and number one worldwide and the production of cow's milk alone. The American states of California, Washington, Idaho, New York, and Pennsylvania are the top dairy producing states of cow's milk within the country. There are larger dairy farms consisting of 15,000 head of cattle and they are also smaller farms of only 30 head of cattle or less. The United States is a major exporter of milk to countries such as Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Canada and China.

China is more populated country in the world so milk requirements is required high amount of milk in day to day life. China has emerged as the world leader in cow milk production with plans for a 100,000 cow dairy farm to be built in Russia. One of the factors would include China becoming so large and milk production but also the fact that Russia has stopped milk and ports to the European Union. An interesting factoid: China's proposed dairy farm in Russia is actually going to be three times bigger than any dairy farm at all within the United States.

The country Brazil is highly technology used and clean dairy farm .Brazil  a large importer of dairy in the past, but now they are at the top of the list as a male producer for a number of reasons, including the fact that they enjoy a very close relationship with India. The connection is very strong because they have a large breed of a cattle called “Gir” that are very valuable the nation of India. The gir cow is indian variety of cows and this variety has great milk quality.

5. Germany (31.1 billion kilograms)  :

The country Germany is on fifth number in milk production. Germans organic cow population increased with over 28,000 to 203,958 dairy cows. Logically, the production of organic milk also went up considerably by 144,000 tons to 939,080 tons, including organic sheep and goat's milk.

The country is adopted all the techniques and technology in this field.


6. Russia (30.3 billion kilograms):

Russia is at number six using strictly traditional dairy technology. Milk production continues to stabilize throughout all the years, with Moscow as the main consuming region within the country. Russia's dairy industry is working to develop better milk production standards, and are presently building an immense dairy farm in China. Milk production in Russia in 2018 amounted to 30.6 million tons, which is 455 thousand tons or 1.5% more than in 2017, according to data published by the federal state statistics service Rosstat.The output from agricultural organizations increased by 3.6% to 16.2 million tons, while farm production was up by 5% to 2.5 million tons, the agency said. Household production showed a decrease of 1.8% to 11.9 million

The country produces milk products such as cream, butter, cheese, and milk powder and they export them to such countries as Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Bangladesh, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea. The citizens of New Zealand are also highly conscious of the possibility of climate change, so they are adapting their milk-producing technology to allow for that. 

9. Turkey (16.7 billion kilograms) 


Turkey is an up-and-coming country in the field of dairy production, as seen from the fact that they continue to improve their lactation standards and they now have a higher amount of cattle to choose from. Their cow milk production is heavily concentrated around the cities of Izmir, Balıkesir, Aydın, Çanakkale, Denizli, Konya, Edirne, Manisa, Tekirdağ, Burdur, and Bursa. Turkey has seen a brisk British trade with trading with many partners within the European Union. 

10. UK (13.9 billion kilograms) 

The dairy trade in the United Kingdom has been well-established for ages. At this point, there have been cows bred specifically for the very simple purpose of just being milk cows. The United Kingdom is the third largest dairy production in the whole entire European Union. However, this has not been without its share of concerns. First of all, there has been a dramatic reduction in production in the United Kingdom, characterized by a 61% reduction in the number of Dairy Producers within the country  Milk production per cow has more than doubled in the past 40 years. An average of 22 litres per day is typical in the UK, with some cows producing up to 60 litres in a day during peak lactation.
